Lively Bungalow Retreat Near Belle Isle, RVA!

We found this to be an attractive remodeled old home in a neighborhood that has for years been in a declining state. Commendably there are efforts to reverse this trend seen in the surrounding area including this homes remodel. However, the atmosphere is threatening. We were awoken at 3AM by high powered weapons discharge very close by. The neighborhood is mostly run down, and a trash pile was heaped up in the rear of the properties across from us. We did not feel safe or comfortable in such surroundings. The homes interior was pleasing, with the beds being comfortable affording a quality sleep. The bathrooms were clean and accommodating. The lack of closet space in the master bedroom was difficult to work around. The host was very communicative, helpful, and pleasant to work with. They obviously have put in a lot of time, money and effort in trying to make this home a vacation retreat. We thank them for their hospitality.

Positive: The house was very nice, clean and spacious. Everything was wonderful. Negative: While cooking, the microwave, an outlet and back porch light went out. Couldn't find the breaker box to turn them back on. Also, the back alley was difficult to access. It was filled with trash at one entrance and old tires at the other.
