Modern, Convenient Gem: Urban Retreat 'n Richmond

Great location when working or visiting Richmond. Positive: Great location and comfortable stay, in a nice walkable neighborhood. Very convenient to downtown.

Our original stay in Richmond was cancelled and thank God! James was an amazing communicator and gave us a lot of ideas to round out our stay in Richmond. Best parts of staying at his place were the free parking, easy walk to the free bus service (although a little hard to understand their busses we finally figured it out), a quaint little restaurant we found that was cheap, good and within walking distance from the apartment, and the layout of the apartment. My husband is an early riser and we were able to have our own spaces with the beautiful kitchen, living room, and bathroom very separate so we weren't disturbing each other if we got up. Be aware - there are a lot of stairs into the place and the quaint bath/shower area are not good if you have any trouble navigating spaces. It was absolutely no problem for us but I could see that it would be if someone had difficulty with stairs it may be. I highly recommend James' VRBO - we loved and would come back in a heartbeat.

We had a great time in Richmond and really appreciated the great apartment. Positive: The apartment is in a great location in a nice neighborhood. It’s on the second floor so there was plenty of light and it felt spacious. The kitchen was nicely renovated and well equipped. There was plenty of parking. Negative: The only thing that was a problem was that the pullout sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. It was hard and lumpy. My son left a bit early so he wouldn’t have to sleep on it for a third night. He was waking up with a lot aches from it.

Haven’t been to Richmond in a while, staying in different parts of the city. Positive: Close to a grocery store and Libby Park
