Positive: It smelled clean. Provided water bottles and coffee. The bed were comfy
Negative: The house is VERY uneven. Almost tripping hazard if your not careful. The walls are not in good condition, making it a bit scary. Ants were in the bathroom.

July 2026 – 3-night stay. It is a good location for those using the Capital Trail or who need to be in the area. As others have mentioned, communication was great; at times, it seemed responses were AI-assisted since they were so immediate and more of an acknowledgement rather than a response to the question. The pictures provided do not reflect the condition of the home. Outside lighting is poor. It's on a dark, country road. Motion-sensor lights by the driveway would be nice. Only one outside door light worked and was dim. The first indicator of the house’s condition is the worn, dirty front door. The house is clean, but in poor condition. Floors are uneven under the flooring, which can present a tripping hazard. Paint and patch jobs are poor, and in some areas it seems the ceiling is ready to fall in. One bedroom door does not close. The living room sofa is stained. After a day of boating, we started a laundry load and the water shut off. We couldn’t shower before our dinner reservation and eventually received instructions on resetting the water pump breaker. Throughout our stay, there were ants around the bathroom and kitchen sinks. The clincher: the last night of our stay, a rat ran from the hall and into the dining room! Made for an unsettling final night’s stay! We do appreciate receiving a partial refund for these occurrences.

We had plenty of parking with easy access...We came to ride the trails and enjoyed miles of trails in either direction. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked. Towels were large and soft. Linens were comfortable ...Throw blankets and pillows in the living room area, gas logs and large TV...The host was always available and checked several times to make sure we had everything we needed...Sweet little house

The Bike Path House is located almost exactly halfway on the Virginia Capital Trail. The house is clean, cozy, and comfortable. There are excellent places nearby to eat including Indian Fields Tavern and Cul’s Courthouse Grill. Historic sites and beautiful plantations abound in the area. The property manager, James, was extremely informative about the location in his first email, and very helpful and prompt with communications during our stay. We plan to visit again!

Host communication was outstanding, and the property is exactly what I expected. I walked the bike trail with my dog everyday. Indian Fields is a short drive away and it has a great vibe and good food. I settled in easy and had a very relaxing stay. The drive to Williamsburg was peaceful and well worth it as well.
